How To Make Money On eBay 2020

Making money online and being able to work from anywhere in the world is a dream for many people but achieving it is very difficult. We are taught that we should go to school and then get a job to earn our money. Most people will be bored of their job 10 years in so the solution is to start your own business and to work the hours you want to. Here are 3 ways to make money on eBay in 2020!

Sell Your Your Old Items At Home

This one might sound obvious but it is to sell your old things that you no longer use/need. While this isn’t going to be a long term thing or make you rich, this will help you to get a starting budget to start one of the more lucrative ideas.

You can go around your house and find things that you don’t need or no longer use, list them on eBay and you will sell them pretty fast. Make sure to upload as many photos as you can to your listing and that you be truthful about the condition. I uploaded 5 things in my house and they all sold in a week.

You also need to keep in mind all the fees that you might encounter when pricing your items. You have the 10% eBay fee, 3.4% (3.9% for international payments) + 30 Paypal Fees and shipping. Your shipping will be based on weight, size, value, and destination. You will also need to buy shipping materials like shipping bags and bubble wrap to ship the products.

Print On Demand

Print on demand (POD) is a business model where you create a design for a shirt, mug, hoodie, laptop case, blankets and much more. You will then upload it to a site like Printful. When an order is placed on your eBay store, Printful’s closest factory to the customer will receive the order, print and ship it to your customer without you needing to do anything else.

This idea does, however, need some starting money if you aren’t a graphics designer. You can buy really cheap designs on Fiverr in bulk and then use them to create a passive income source on eBay. If you don’t have any money, you can create your own text-based designs but they will most likely not sell as fast.

The company that you create the items with will charge you a high price like $15 for a laptop case and that is before shipping, fees or your profit margin. Your designs have to be good to be able to sell these on a market place like eBay but if done right you can make a lot of money.

eBay Dropshipping

Shopify Dropshipping is a massive thing online as it can make a lot of money but you do have to have a high starting budget for ads and store creation. Dropshipping on eBay could be the next best option as you don’t need to advertise or create a store.

eBay does, however, have very strict guidelines around dropshipping on their market place and you can find them all here. Their main rule is that you can’t dropship from market places so Aliexpress is useless. There is a platform called CJdropshiping and they source products from AliExpress and get products from the supplier so that you sell from a supplier and not a marketplace.

You may want to buy a tool like Zik Analytics to do product research however this does cost around $25 per month so you may want to do manual product research if you don’t have that. Many videos on YouTube will teach you how to do this but make sure that you follow eBay’s guidelines to ensure you don’t get banned.

Conclusion

eBay is for more than just buying and selling your old stuff, it can be used as a great platform for your business but does have high selling fees. This is a great way to get started if you are a beginner and you can use the money that you make from this to start a better business in the future!
